Sales of homes owned by distressed owners fell during the first three months of this year, according to a report released last week . RealtyTrac, a foreclosure-monitoring service based in Irvine, Calif., reported that buyers purchased 1,055 homes in Hampton Roads that were either in foreclosure or "underwater" on the mortgage. That was down about 9 percent from the fourth quarter of 2009, but up about 4.5 percent from the same quarter a year ago.
